How can he already be 6 months?

19 pounds 2.5 ounces

26 inches long

Everything is looking healthy!

Daven's diet is no longer "restricted" and we are actually starting on meats tonight!
(And pureeing chicken is as gross as it sounds.) Last night I made him a chicken, black bean and rice mixture. It looked edible until I blended it all together!

And guess what? HE HAS TWO TEETH!!! It's so hard to get any pictures, though. They are the front bottom teeth.

We got him a "big boy" car seat. Since I had my last paycheck and we knew he was going to reach the weight limit on his infant seat soon, we wanted to make sure we had enough money. We got a great deal at BRU - $100 plus 20% off with a coupon. It's a convertible seat so when he's old enough we can switch it to forward-facing. And the cool thing is that once it's facing forward it can recline! A installed it in my car last weekend and Daven loves it!

Daven is also sitting up! He's still a bit of a weeble at times, but he loves to sit up and play with his toys.

A little while ago, I let Daven make his first big mess. He was eating his oatmeal (before bath time, thank goodness!) and he managed to grab the bowl. I decided to see what he would do with it.

I decided that I wanted to make a blanket for Daven. I was hoping to find material to make him one like I have, but the fabric store didn't have what I was looking for. I did find some cute fabric, though, and after a long day cursing at my MIL's sewing machine, I finally did it!

I thought that since his teeth have come through that Daven would start sleeping better at night again. No such luck! It's starting to wear on me, but it's just one of those mommy sacrifices!

I know this post was extremely train of thought-ness, but I was trying to get in all the biggies!

Daven's poor gums. It seems like his teeth could come through any day day now, but we just keep waiting. It sucks because it hurts him so bad and there's nothing I can do about it. Oragel has become a part of our daily routine. Daven hasn't been sleeping well either, even when he's in bed with us.

Speaking of a grumpy baby boy. Gotta go.

Weekend time!

It's the weekend! What to do?

I need a nap. Daven didn't sleep well last night. Not really sure why though. Hopefully tonight goes better.

For some reason, I don't have much to say today. Well, this was a rather pointless post!

Vacation envy

With A's family on a cruise and my parents currently on a plane to Florida to spend a week in Disney, I want to go on vaca BAD. I don't want to wait until next summer to take Daven to the beach! Oh well. Maybe we just need to get a sandbox...for me.

I had a job interview on Tues. to work an after school program. It would be part time. Not as much money as I would like, but I would still get to spend time with Daven every day. The director's position is available, but it is a 12 hour, 5 days a week job and there's no way I could do that! Plus, I'm not really qualified for the job anyway. I should hear by tomorrow or Mon whether or not they want to hire me.

Daven is not a fan of avocados. He tolerates peas, but avocados - he's not having it. We tried them a few nights with no improvement so I think that's it for them. Bubye!

I put our pack n play next to my side of the bed and for the past two nights I have managed to have him sleep in it. It's been so tough for me and I'm still not sleeping well. But I know that I shouldn't keep Daven in bed with us and I know that he needs his own space. I never thought I would have this much anxiety. I never thought I could love him so so much. A and I couldn't ask for a better baby boy.

Big day tomorrow!

We are going to celebrate Daven's first 4th of July by having a cook out at our house. A's family, my grandpa, aunt and uncle, plus some friends are coming over for dinner. We still have to clean the house and go to the grocery, but it should be fun.

Yesterday I made apples and pears for Daven in the oven. It made the house smell so good! He ate the apples and although he made a funny face with the first bite, he likes them!

Well, I thought I had more to say, but I've got nothing.

Our little pumpkin was in such a good mood yesterday! I went over to my parent's house because I was in a funk and needed some company. Lacey fed him his bananas before she had to go to class. Then he napped on me outside in the hammock. Then we went swimming. After A got home from work I managed to leave Daven with my parents and we went out to eat.

I'm in another funk this morning. Like I just want to sit here and hug Daven all day and do nothing else. But he's too active for that!
